FIrpic, also known as F₂Irpic or Ir(difppy)₂(pic), is a benchmark sky-blue phosphorescent iridium complex used mainly as an OLED emitter dopant and optoelectronic research material. It is a heteroleptic bis-cyclometalated Ir(III) complex with two difluorophenylpyridine ligands and one picolinate ancillary ligand. It is valued for sky-blue emission, high emission efficiency and suitable energy levels in phosphorescent OLED research.
FIrpic should be treated as a single benchmark sky-blue phosphorescent iridium complex, not as the broader blue PHOLED emitter market. The correct market scope includes sublimed OLED grade, high-purity research grade, photophysical research grade and small custom batches of FIrpic only. It should not be mixed with FIr6, FIrN4, Ir(ppy)₃, Ir(ppy)₂(acac), proprietary blue PHOLED emitters or OLED panel revenue.
From the demand side, FIrpic is mainly used in blue / sky-blue PHOLED research, host-material screening, device architecture benchmarking, vacuum evaporation tests and photophysical studies.
