    FESEM is a high-resolution electron microscopy platform that uses a field emission electron gun to generate a high-brightness, low-energy-spread electron beam for raster scanning across a specimen surface. By collecting secondary electrons, backscattered electrons, transmitted electrons and characteristic X-ray signals, FE-SEM systems provide nanoscale morphology, compositional contrast, crystallographic orientation and local structural information. This study focuses on FE-SEM instruments used in research and industrial analysis, including cold field emission ultra-high-resolution SEMs, Schottky field emission SEMs, analytical FE-SEMs, variable-pressure or environmental FE-SEMs, desktop FEG-SEMs and expandable systems integrated with EDS, EBSD, WDS, cathodoluminescence, STEM-in-SEM and in-situ testing modules. Key performance parameters include low-voltage resolution, ultimate resolution, probe current stability, detector architecture, chamber and stage design, automation level, accessory compatibility and uptime reliability.
