    Downstream, whether a “fast-charge cell” delivers real-world fast charging depends on charging protocols (often CC-CV / CCCV), BMS current limits, temperature management, and charger coordination. CC-CV charging typically applies constant current until the voltage limit is reached, then holds voltage while current tapers—so fast-charge performance is ultimately defined by the full protocol and constraints rather than a single “peak C-rate.”
    In 2025, global sales of fast charge battery cells reached approximately 385 GWh, with an average global market price of around US$ 81/kWh. Production capacity varies significantly among manufacturers, with gross profit margins ranging from approximately 10% to 20%.
    On the demand side, fast-charge cells are increasingly valued for charging certainty rather than just range. As public charging networks keep expanding and DC fast charging becomes more prevalent, consumers pay more attention to charging speed and real availability during public charging.
