Important product and process parameters commonly include needle height and geometry, array density, mechanical strength, insertion efficiency, delivered-dose uniformity, active loading, dissolution and release time, residual moisture, microbial control, adhesive performance, and moisture-barrier packaging. Dissolving microneedle array patches are used in cosmetic applications such as under-eye wrinkle care, blemish treatment and skin brightening, as well as in dermatology, hair-loss treatment, vaccination, and the delivery of small molecules, peptides, proteins, nucleic acids and other potent therapeutics.
