Typical technology routes include decanning and grinding of automotive honeycomb catalysts, thermal treatment and metal recovery of refinery catalysts, dissolution or ashing of chemical catalyst supports, high-temperature concentration of platinum group metals, chloride-based hydrometallurgical separation, plasma smelting, and closed-loop refining and return.
