    A Capacitive Accelerometer Sensor is a precision sensing device used to measure linear acceleration, static acceleration, low-frequency vibration, tilt, motion and changes in velocity by detecting variations in electrical capacitance. Modern capacitive accelerometers are typically based on Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology, in which a microscopic proof mass is suspended by flexible structures between fixed electrodes. When acceleration is applied, the inertial force causes the proof mass to move relative to the fixed structure, changing the distance between the electrodes and consequently altering the capacitance. The resulting capacitance variation is detected by integrated electronic circuitry and converted into an analog or digital electrical signal proportional to acceleration.
    Depending on product design and application requirements, capacitive accelerometer sensors can be configured as single-axis, biaxial or triaxial devices, with measurement ranges extending from highly sensitive low-g products for inclination, structural monitoring and precision motion sensing to higher-g devices used in vehicle testing, aerospace testing and industrial measurement. Capacitive accelerometers are widely used in consumer electronics, automotive systems, industrial automation, robotics, test and measurement, structural health monitoring, aerospace and defense, inertial navigation, seismic monitoring and other motion-sensing applications.
    1) Products are rapidly penetrating from low-cost consumer-grade MEMS to high-performance markets such as automotive and industrial. Early large-scale growth in capacitive MEMS accelerometers primarily came from smartphones, wearable devices, and consumer electronics, but the current growth focus is shifting more towards automotive safety, industrial automation, robotics, condition monitoring, and high-reliability inertial measurement.     3) Predictive maintenance in industry will drive the replacement of some traditional piezoelectric sensors with high-bandwidth, low-noise capacitive MEMS accelerometers. For example, the Analog Devices ADXL1002 can achieve a linear frequency response from DC to 11 kHz, a noise density of 25 μg/√Hz, and a range of ±50 g, while also featuring DC response, self-testing, and strong shock resistance. This allows capacitive MEMS products to begin entering the fields of motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, machine tools, and industrial asset condition monitoring. In the future, its advantages will mainly lie in its small size, low power consumption, ease of digitization, mass production capability, and suitability for wireless sensing nodes, rather than a complete replacement of all piezoelectric sensors.
    4) "Low noise + wide bandwidth + high stability" are becoming core competitive indicators for high-end products. In the past, capacitive MEMS were better suited for low-frequency and static measurements. Now, manufacturers are continuously improving bandwidth, reducing noise, and improving temperature drift, thus expanding into scenarios such as industrial vibration, navigation, and precision tilt.
