Products prepared by CVI combined with reactive melt infiltration (RMI) and post-heat treatment exhibit a flexural strength of up to 296.52 MPa.
In the supply and application chain, key upstream inputs include carbon fiber, silicon carbide raw materials and processing additives; the midstream consists of specialized manufacturing and processing, where precise control of process parameters directly determines material performance and quality consistency. Downstream applications mainly cover high-end equipment sectors such as aerospace, energy, nuclear industry and high-speed trains. The material is widely used in components including aero-engine combustors, missile fairings and spacecraft brake discs to withstand extreme high temperatures and friction-wear conditions, serving as a key material especially for aerospace and high-end braking systems.
