The growth momentum mainly comes from four aspects: First, EU end-of-life vehicle regulations and requirements for recycled plastic content in automobiles are being strengthened. The European Council adopted a position in June 2025, proposing phased targets for recycled plastic content in new cars, including 15% in the first 6 years, 20% in the first 8 years, and 25% in the first 10 years after the regulations take effect. Second, lightweighting of vehicles, cost reduction in electric vehicles, carbon footprint accounting, and ESG supply chain requirements are driving OEMs to procure recycled PP, PA, ABS, PC, PET, TPO, and other materials. Third, AI sorting, near-infrared recognition, solvent recycling, depolymerization, pyrolysis, and chemical recycling are improving the recycling challenges posed by multiple materials, coatings, flame retardants, glass fiber reinforcement, and pollutants in automotive plastics. Fourth, automotive interior and exterior trim, wheel arches, underbody protection panels, carpet fibers, sound insulation materials, bumpers, air ducts, trays, and non-structural components will be the first to increase the proportion of recycled materials, while safety components, transparent components, and high-temperature components are still subject to certification and material consistency restrictions.
