Upstream for automotive Active Sound Control (ASC) starts with noise-and-vibration target setting and vehicle acoustic modeling, followed by selecting sensors (cabin microphones, wheel-speed/RPM signals, sometimes accelerometers), choosing actuators (typically the in-car audio speakers, and in some designs active mounts or shakers), and developing/tuning the DSP algorithms (feedforward/feedback/hybrid) along with ECU/amp hardware, software integration, and validation for latency, stability, and robustness across speeds, road surfaces, temperatures, and vehicle variants; suppliers then deliver calibrated software and hardware modules to OEMs and Tier-1 integrators and support vehicle-level calibration.
